Abstract Submission

Abstract submission deadline: 27 May, 2022 [12pm midnight AEST, extended deadline]

Registration (for all attendees): $50 Students; $175, Staff

Attendance fee (only for those attending in person): $150

YOU MUST BE REGISTERED TO SUBMIT AN ABSTRACT

ABPS encourages submission of abstracts describing new research in experimental psychology, neuroimaging and cognitive neuroscience. Abstracts must be written in comprehensible English and will be evaluated on the basis of scientific merit by peer review. Abstracts should report original research, with a recent publication or presentation at a recent meeting (e.g., within a year) of another society acceptable. Submissions should cover methods and results, although contributions with a theoretical or methodological emphasis are welcome.

Please review the submission instructions carefully below.

  • The presenting author must register and attend ABPS2022.
  • The presenting author will receive notification confirming abstract submission.
  • If you do not receive notification within 24 hours of submission, please contact ABPS (ozbrainpsysci@gmail.com)
  • The author will be notified of the format of their presentation by the first week of June.
  • Correspondence regarding abstract submissions will only be sent to the corresponding author.
  • Each registrant may only present one submission.
  • If the presenting author is a student, they are eligible to apply for a student award. Please indicate your student status at the time of registration (e.g., PhD, Masters, undergraduate). Awards will be presented at the conference.

Presentation Formats

Poster

Posters will be displayed and presented during Poster Gala sessions.

Open talks

There will be opportunities for oral presentations in open paper sessions. These will be selected on thematic content and scientific merit. Open talks will be 15 minutes, including 3 minutes for questions.

Submission instructions

All abstracts must be prepared in plain text, in understandable English with no embedded symbols or formatting characters.

Submissions may not include charts, graphs or tables. Please spell out the symbols (alpha, beta, microns, picomolar, etc.) or translate them (mean, chi square, etc.) in your abstract submission.

  • Use a clear, descriptive title. Do not use capital letters and restrict to 20 words maximum.
  • Include full first and last names for each author.
  • Enter the authors list their primary affiliation/institution. Do not abbreviate the affiliation.
  • The body of the Abstract must not exceed 200 words. It should not include section subheadings, but must clearly indicate background, methods, results and discussion.
  • If you wish to provide a funding source for your research, please include it as the last sentence in your abstract.
  • ABPS2022 welcomes early submissions!

We encourage new research and preliminary findings. However, we do not support early development of research programs that have no data. Theoretical papers and systematic reviews can be submitted and will be considered on their merit. If in doubt, please contact ABPS2022 (ozbrainpsysci@gmail.com)
